Installers, fabricators, and systems companies were all drawn to something they hadn’t quite seen before – a PVCu door system built from rails, stiles and decorative mouldings, offering the classic visual appeal of a traditional timber door with all the performance and production benefits of modern PVCu.

And this wasn’t an overnight innovation. The system has been in development for several years, drawing on multiple areas of our business – particularly our deep experience in decorative glass and surface finishing through RegaLead. It’s the result of collaborative innovation, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the market respond so positively.

At their core, Engineered PVCu Door Components are a complete suite of elements – including flats, tongue and grooved, and raised and fielded panels, in a wide range of foil options to suit most systems, plus decorative mouldings and the company’s stunning range of decorative glass options – designed to allow fabricators to create visually rich, high-performance doors using standard PVCu systems and methods.

When combined with our panels and glass, the result is a door that delivers the classic aesthetic of timber, with the thermal performance, security and low maintenance benefits of PVCu. These are not imitation doors – they are design-led, production-friendly alternatives to composite or timber, offering a genuine point of difference in a crowded market.

At FIT, fabricators immediately saw the opportunity to produce doors with greater design appeal while using familiar manufacturing techniques. There was no need to invest in complex machinery or change production lines – just the addition of new components to create a distinct product offering.

The Engineered PVCu Door system is designed to be as practical as it is beautiful. It integrates with existing PVCu profiles and production methods, meaning fabricators can bring something fresh to market without adding manufacturing complexity.

The extensive choice of foiled finishes – over 70 stock colours and more than 100 on special order – ensures that homeowners have the flexibility they’re looking for. Full compatibility with Residence Collection and VEKA OMNIA foils adds even more scope for personalisation.

Another headline trend from the show was the renewed appetite for decorative glass, not just in engineered doors, but around examples were seen around the show in composites, timber, and even aluminium. After several years of minimalist design, homeowners are looking once again for a return to traditional features, authentic aesthetics, and sympathetic details that honour the character and history of their properties.

Our new Stained Glass Overlay (SGO) division has played a key role here, producing a stunning range of traditional and contemporary designs that helped set our stand apart. From Victorian-inspired motifs to coloured infills with a modern twist, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive – and several of our glass designs were featured on other stands too, showing just how much appetite there is for more expressive glazing.

The market is experiencing a clear shift – a renewal of traditional design elements alongside the introduction of new innovations. Decorative glass, once a hallmark of craftsmanship and individuality, is enjoying a renaissance, reintroducing pattern, texture, and colour into door and window design in ways that align with today’s performance and manufacturing standards.

At the same time, the arrival of Engineered Doors is rewriting the rulebook, pairing timeless beauty with modern strength and precision. Together, they form a meeting point between tradition and innovation, proving that the best homes are those that carry their history forward while embracing what’s next.

The response at FIT confirmed what we’ve long believed – this isn’t a niche product. It’s the beginning of a new category in the door market. Engineered PVCu Doors offer a compelling alternative that enables fabricators to create high-quality, design-led entrance doors with true market appeal.

We’re not positioning this system as a replacement for composite or timber. It’s something different. Something that empowers the trade to offer more – to stand out, meet changing tastes, and tap into a growing appetite for design, detail and durability.
