RegaLead and The Residence Collection join forces to launch the Engineered Door

Unveiled at the FIT Show in April 2025, the Engineered Door combines The Residence Collection’s heritage-style profiles and extensive colour palette with RegaLead’s expertise in decorative glass and premium door panels. The aim? To deliver a door that captures the charm and character of timber, but with all the modern performance benefits of PVCu.
The project began when Sarah Hitchings, Sales and Marketing Director at The Residence Collection, approached RegaLead to help solve a colour-matching challenge.
We’d spoken to several panel suppliers, but none could offer the full range of foils we needed, RegaLead said they could – and that’s when we knew this could be something more.
What followed was a close and highly productive partnership.
We came at it from opposite directions, Residence had the profiles and the market position, while we had the panel and glass know-how. It made sense to work together to create something completely unique and new to the market.
The Residence Engineered Door is a PVCu-based entrance door system designed to replicate the appearance of a traditional timber door. It offers far greater flexibility in size and style than composite doors – with door sashes up to 2200mm x 900mm – making it ideal for homeowners wanting to match Residence windows for a full-house heritage look. Engineered doors can be configured in almost any style and feature a wide choice of panel designs and decorative glass options.
As with all Residence products, attention to detail is key. This was true 12 years ago with the launch of the original Residence 9 window and continues with the latest Residence Door.
The design also incorporates a stunning range of decorative glass options, including products from RegaLead’s SGO division and the Custom Range, allowing homeowners to personalise their doors to suit their property.
This isn’t style over substance. The doors launched at the FIT Show were fully tested and certified, achieving U-values as low as 0.9 and PAS 24 accreditation. “This isn’t just a prototype or a concept,” says Sarah. “It’s ready to go.”
In keeping with The Residence Collection’s established approach, the Engineered Door is being marketed primarily to consumers, generating leads that installers can convert and fabricators can fulfil. A dedicated Residence Door Designer tool has been developed to showcase the possibilities of PVCu Engineered Doors, supported by a consumer brochure that explains the panel options and decorative glass choices in simple, engaging language.
While new to the market, the Engineered Door also signals the emergence of a new product category – one that sits between timber and composite doors. It’s already proving popular among homeowners who want a genuine alternative to timber without compromising on performance.
“In a slower market, people have time to explore different options,” Sarah notes. “They’re looking for something that stands out – and this fits the bill.”
Guy adds: “This isn’t just a door launch. It’s about opening up a new opportunity – for us, for our partners, and for the market as a whole.”
